I’ve used many piano roll editors on iPad and feel loopy is quite clunky to have a smooth workflow. I have some suggestions from other apps Ive used that have a good workflow.
I like Logic Pro in the pencil mode by holding down in any spot we can select a group of notes, upon letting go it is still in pencil mode. The option to duplicate should exist upon selecting notes. At the moment selecting notes in selection mode requires hitting the pencil twice to activate pencil, this is quite jarring as the first click closes the delete/copy/quantise box but doesn’t actually activate the pencil.
When adding new notes close to other notes the delete/copy/quantise box comes up instead of adding new notes, something to do with area real estate precision I presume.
The ability to name the notes in the piano roll would be great too, eg kick, snare etc.
The ability to have selected notes move an octave up or down would be great.
Just my opinion developed from working with midi note editors for a long time and appreciating working fast with a smooth workflow.
Sorry I didn’t know if I should be creating seperate threads for each or not.
