Feature Request - Metronome
the insightful developer at tasty pixel continues to blur the lines between music and machine at the DNA level of creative interfacing
in the top right corner sits the metronome prefs, not to be underrated !
enter Chrono-Meter or LoopyNome, a dose of steroids for the metronome of Loopy Pro
by applying the the existing graphical elements for donuts daw clips and widget control, an enhanced intuitive metronome feature will bring this function up to par with other interface design
Dedicated Donut Display
  • meter counter full divisions of time signature
  • gradient pulse from center to perimeter
  • eg: quadrants, thirds, etc.
  • outer circle beat division segments rotation
  • option to “back light” donuts with meter view
( in place of wave form or with transparency )
DAW Display
  • similar to above but linear view
The resultant counter display presents a truly felt pulse that greatly enhances visual response and musical accuracy (short of hooking up kinetic feed back / haptic response via alligator clips)
Metering
  • add formal numeric counter
  • colors for accenting downbeats
  • 1’s of the bars
  • sub divisions for odd time 5/4 (3+2) etc.
  • clips with varied tempos are discernible
  • bar counter
Song Markers
  • verse chorus time track header
  • arrange repeat jump color coded
  • overall song play time counter
Band Link-O-Meter
  • add on widget allows flashing band iPhones
  • even allow bass player to set tempo and go
  • or train audience to clap in time
  • cue hands clapping icon finger snapping or foot stomping … dog barking, wolf howling ?
Flash Back Metronome
while the back drop flashing feature takes no real estate it can be hard to discern or akin to flash photography to some
adding a solid border around the screen edge could better focus the beat with auto color brightness as per environment lighting conditions
segments around the border may still represent beats or bar with hi lighting clockwise not unlike the current tiny icon
a metronome for the hard of rhythm ?
MetroFx
  • add vari speed slider pull off to set tempo
  • set acceleration / deceleration scale
  • eg: a pad loop gradually cycles faster
  • click track sample options, audio routing
some impetus for the above comes from a need to play double time jazz kit over long ambient pads or allow multiple tempos to play concurrently
LP is a customizable app, a flexible platform, continuously being stretched among amoeba, up to the creator to pace the evolution !
