Live visual waveform for recording buffer.

Would be great to have a visual monitoring widget/clip property to show a continuous signal of a specified source but in particular the recording buffer with a length specified.
Or maybe make this a optional setting on the clip level. Also locking it so it does not respond to touch.
Having a visual of the recording buffer is really useful for Retrospective recording.
Perhaps there is also a way to show this in a existing clip.
Also the option to set direction. Right to left or left to right would be great.

Fwiw, the soon-to-released 1.1.18 now correctly displays waveforms during overdubbing. You can now setup a clip to overdub after play with feedback at 0. Set auto count out on and the count-out of your choice and you can have a fixed buffer that has a constantly updated visualization of the buffer.

Hey, I think this would also be useful to show a live representation of the master out to see what is happening to the sound at the moment. Having a live master out representation would really help me to see where I am in the loop. So maybe create a widget that receives signal through a bus from any given source (in/out) and make that live signal mappable to a live waveform widget of some sort (should work using the same graphic processing as for recording the clips)

ultracello i realized in general there are auv3 units that can show this waveform. The primarly issue with utility based auv3 is that you want them locked into the UI.
auv3 floating windows are a blessing and curse. I wish you could just remove the top and bottom bars. especially when you can control presets from loopy.
