I 'think' in current state, the ICONs of the plugins have a little letter, like 'A' or 'B' or 'C' next to each unique instance of the plugin, correct?

Yes, please. I use the same plugin in 18 instances, slowly losing track.

Michael Tyson: in this case I think it's not done: I mean to rename AUv3 plugin instances via for example let's say long press on the title to rename it. This is currently not doable.

...for internal quick allocation when adding/editing actions for plugins but the main reason for me would be to show the name in the top center of the tab bar of the plugin to distinguish other instances of the same plugin type.
