To add variations on a single MIDI clip.
Example:
I want my intro to start just with a single kick for x meters and then I want to add a hi-hat and then a snare or a percussion element etc. At the current moment I would need 4-5 separate clips just to cover one single section of a song to do that.
Then I want to go to another section of the song and start another build up. To do that I need again 4-5 clips for the build up of this second section.
That means that I need to use 10 clips to cover only 2 sections of the song.
If I need to add another section with a build up I need again multiple clips but now there is no space on the canvas to add more clips.canvas is full of space just to cover only 2 sections of the song.
Solution:
If there was patterns inside a single clip and actions to select which pattern will play on this clip we could set a dial next to it and let the dial decide which pattern the clip will play and then use the dial to add the variations on this single clip instead of using another clip just to add another element on the pattern. That way we could have more sections on a song and each section with it's own build up but with a minimal number of clips on the canvas.
