Description
This feature request proposes the addition of an option in Loopy Pro to hide specific pages from the navigation tabs during normal operation. While these pages would remain accessible and editable in Edit Layout mode, they would not appear in the user interface during performance mode. This functionality would allow users to create pages dedicated to background processes, macros, or MIDI-triggered actions without cluttering the main navigation.
Proposed Solution
- Hide Page Option: Introduce a setting within the page properties to mark a page as "hidden," removing its tab from the navigation bar during normal use.
- Edit Mode Accessibility: Ensure that hidden pages remain fully accessible and editable when in Edit Layout mode.
- Custom Navigation: Allow users to create custom buttons or MIDI actions to navigate to hidden pages if needed, providing flexibility in accessing these pages without displaying them in the main UI.
- Sidebar Visibility Toggle: Consider adding an option to hide the entire page sidebar in performance mode, giving users the ability to maximize screen real estate and reduce visual distractions.
Problem
- UI Clutter: Users who create multiple pages for specific functions, such as macros or MIDI-triggered actions, may find the navigation bar becomes cluttered, making it harder to access primary performance pages efficiently.
- Unnecessary Visibility: Pages that are not intended for direct interaction during performances currently still appear in the navigation tabs, potentially causing confusion or accidental navigation.
- Limited Customization: The inability to hide specific pages limits the user's ability to tailor the interface to their workflow, especially for those relying heavily on MIDI controllers and seeking a minimal on-screen interface.
Benefits
- Streamlined Interface: Hiding non-essential pages from the navigation tabs would result in a cleaner, more focused user interface, enhancing usability during live performances.
- Enhanced Customization: Users can design their workspace to match their specific workflow needs, keeping performance-critical pages prominent while relegating auxiliary pages to the background.
- Improved Focus: Reducing on-screen elements minimizes distractions, allowing performers to concentrate on their music without unnecessary visual clutter.

I think the best solution would be to at least have the possibility to hide the page list in the game mode in general. You can create individual buttons for switching to another page, if you need it. In edit mode, of course, it makes sense that the sidebar is generally displayed. In my case I only use midi controller and never touch the iPad screen while looping, so I don't need the sidebar. In addition, you would have a bit more free space for other widgets and would not be visually distracted by the sidebar.
