Effect Chain Presets with Signal Splitting and Routing
planned
ultracello
Description:
Users want the ability to create custom effect chains in Loopy Pro, consisting of AUv3 and built-in effects, which can be saved and recalled as presets. This feature should include the ability to split signals based on frequency, volume, stereo (LR) or dual-split, and apply distinct effects to each split path, with the option to merge the processed signals back at the end.
Problem:
Currently, Loopy Pro only allows routing an audio signal directly to the next plugin, without flexible signal splitting or parallel processing. This limitation prevents more advanced audio setups, like multi-band processing or complex effect routing, which are common in multi-FX setups like Axe Fx III.
Proposed Solution:
- Implement a modular grid system to route audio signals dynamically, similar to multi-FX processors.
- Allow users to split audio based on specific parameters (frequency, volume, stereo channels).
- Enable combining processed split signals at the end of the chain.
- Save and recall these custom effect chains as presets.
- Make it possible to integrate channel strip savings for easier project management.
Benefits:
- Greatly enhanced audio processing flexibility.
- Efficient setup for advanced sound design and multi-effects.
- Simplifies workflow by allowing preset recall for complex signal chains.
- Facilitates creative sound manipulation during live performances.

Uh why can't you do this in an single audio bus? Well OK, you can't route audio signal (based on frequency or really anything) to more than one plugin. In fact in LP you can ONLY route the audio signal the very next plugin. It "seems" what you want, is similar to the Editor software for the Axe Fx III multi-fx process. It's a GRID of like 6 rows by 20 columns, where each cell contains a plugin or router. See the attached picture. In LP in an audiobus - again you can only route to the very next plugin. In the Axe Fx III (shown in the pic) you can route the output of a single plugin to 5 other plugins. The attached picture only shows 2 rows, but 6 total rows are available. And you can route based on frequency, signal volume, etc. If each audio bus was a "grid" of 6 rows and 20 or so columns, where you could split the audio signal - that would be AMAZING.

Ah, does this include chanel strip savings? Makes so much sense to just be able to load an instrument with effects and it would be very easy to handle when being just able to load chanelstrips including Instrument and effects as a whole. Thinking this chanel wise would make it very easy to handle. Being able to load effectblocks anywhere within the chanel sounds more complicated, as it happens in so many differentc scenarios. Just loading a complete Track incl. Instrument & Effects would make this very straight forward...

This is so badly needed here! Hope it comes soon!
