How about show a raster 4/4 (or 2/2, 8/8 or whatever you want) for a clip? And you should be able to change the raster size and if on or off by (follow) actions.

Displayed on top of a clip. This would help to to know more precisely where the cursor is currently now. Useful for overdubs and time critical stuff for orientation.

Oh and later benefit could be: tap for example on the 3/4 section of a clip to play exactly this section as a one-shot.
